Cancer Free
And just like the title says....I had my yearly scans yesterday. Bone, CT, MRI. Such a drag - laying on that skinny little table holding perfectly still for nearly 20 minutes. Getting my arm picked and poked and prodded. Having fluids poored into my veins and feeling the sting of even the saline solution. And the worst of it - standing on the scale - yuck! But it was all worthwhile when the doctor calmly looked through my records and said, "I don't see any cancer." You go through the year feeling good...thinking it won't happen again. You're not necessarily afraid - just a little nervous. But when he walks in that door with the file, your heart just flip flops and you have a little sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. Five little words and it's all over again. The relief is like a wave just washing over you. June 29th I'll be at year 4! Cancer free.
