Cold in the Cold

I have had a miserable cold this week. You know the kind...sniffling, headache, watery eyes, cough, aching. I sound like a commercial for cold medications which, unfortunately, I cannot take 'cause they make me wiggy. And the weather has been the coldest we have had in many, many weeks. The biting, stinging kind of cold. The 'keep your socks on in bed' kind of cold. So my resolutions for change have gone a bit by the wayside. But now that my brain is on again (sniff, cough) I have a new appreciation for the need to be healthy. I have dragged myself up the stairs to bed, slumped into chairs, and sat bleary eyed at my office desk. I'm tired of being tired. This has made me appreciate even more that when I AM healthy I need to be doing something positive and pro-active. As I look around my messy kitchen and tornado-hit bedroom, I am promising myself that, when I am feeling better I will put my good health to good use. I will not waste it. I will not squander it. It is more precious than money and time has no value without it. Pass me that hot toddy, please!

  1. oh, I'm so sorry you have a cold. If fact, as I'm typing this note - I sneezed twice. I think they were sympathy sneezes.

Yes, we also experienced the winter weather and the need for socks in bed - it was on Thursday. :)
